Blackout Day
Participants! |
Way to Go Ontario!
As a result of your participation in the 2008 Blackout Day Challenge, we conserved enough
energy to take 27,000 homes off the grid
for the day!
According to
WWF
Canada
we also generated
2099 kg in Green
House Gas savings!
That is equal to not producing 48,277 plastic bags
or 145 CFL lightbulbs turned off for an entire year!

Darci Lombard,
Summer House Park campground and cottage resort,
Miller Lake: Last year we had a great time promoting
the Blackout Day challenge with a 50% drop in power
usage!
In 2009 we hosted activities for kids, turning
non-essential equipment off, & host a star-gazing
night at the beach.
